This is a release I wanted  to review for a long time. I would like to apologize because for a long time and in a regular basis , Im reviewing rather older releases. I consider totally necessary to write few lines for this incredible release which remains one of the favorite deep house releases for many of my friends. Afrilounge – Lux Dementia [cns019-6] (2007) is a digital release by Connaisseur ,  out at december 2007 including two tracks the “lux dementia and gene”. If you like deepmix.ru radio then you know the tracks for sure , the same if you are part of the “berliner  clubbing community”. Deep sounds and rythmic mellodic tunes are the basic feature of this release , remaining recommended for any house dj in particular. Highly recommended also for your music library. I dont know if you can find this on vinyl , if any of our readers know please post a link bellow.

With no doubt , you remember the interview of Robot for brains with MNanotek on this blog a few months ago. Today we focus again on robot for brains , presenting his EP “the hard way” as well as offering a link to download it for free.

Hard way ep is a selection of robot for brains tracks released on swischotheque. All tracks written, recorded, mixed & mastered by Gareth Cox from 07′ to 09′ using both hardware and software. Additional Mastering by Sven at ‘Borglab’.

All the tracks of this EP are beautiful. That acid sound inside this release  is totally a blast especially the “this is life” and “Rfb acid”. I still cant decide which track is my favorite , i love them both. “This is life” is totally a “k hole” and “Rfb acid” is simply a track you wanna keep on repeat mode. After listening to this EP , I rather think that we should keep the connection with the sound of the past and transform it in a progressive way. This EP is a good example of what I would like to listen , find and present on this blog future term.

The remixes by Thornton Force and Nightcrawlers are awesome as well. I think you should download this EP. highly recommended

This is a killer track for free download recommended by the shituationist institute today , uploaded on soundcloud  approximately 9 months ago. This track it is totally reminding the best years of techno , back to the 90s as well as early 00s. It is a brilliant recommendation for this week ..

Q1 Could you tell us something about yourself and your artistic background please.

Our Dj Team consists of Brax Moody and Vamparela. We started producing radio shows in our home towns when we were teenagers. Brax Moody played in hip hop and indie clubs of Bavaria’s exciting Capital, Munich. Vamparela played in indie and electro bars in vibrant Thessaloniki, the second largest city in Greece. We then moved to the colourful German Capital, Berlin, where we met and in 2010 formed the DJ collaboration Local Suicide. Since then we have been playing in some of the best clubs around Europe. We mainly play minimal, house, electro swing and disco.

Q2 Do you work on your own, what collaborations do you participate in (label, musical partners, etc)?

Since now we have been mainly working on our own, but we are flirting with the idea of collaborating with some other musical partners.

Q3 Something you want to share about your local scene, some insights or recommendations?

We have been living in Berlin for some years now and we see how the local musical orientation is changing. It went from minimal to house and now the latest hype is disco.

Q4 What equipment do you use, what is your work process?

When we dj, we usually use a lap top and the Vestax dj controller, but sometimes we also play with vinyl.

Q5 What are your next gigs and where can we preview your works online?

We had a big tour in Europe in April, so now we are taking a small break. The next gig is on the 21st May in one of Cologne’s hypes venues, Stadtgarten and on June 17th at M&D, an open air festival near Brussels.

We are planning on starting producing music on a more professional level, making more remixes and on traveling to even more far away places to play.
